Responsible for setting up and operating Plasma cutting table to produce metal parts. Produces small batches or large quantities of metal parts. Ensure products meet precise specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Operate CNC Plasma table safely.
- Develop part nest utilizing Hypertherm ProNest software.
- Change out plasma consumables when needed.
- Select proper torch set ups for the job.
- Grind, de-burr, and clean parts as needed.
- Must be able to use basic measuring devices, including a tape measure.
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
- Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures, wears protective equipment as required to meet or exceed OSHA and company requirements.
- May provide training to other employees on machining, assembly, inspection and/or test procedures.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.
- Maintains all aspects of workplace cleanliness and organization.
- Performs other job tasks or duties as requested
- Complies with the requirements of the companies Quality Management System
Additional Responsibilities
- Required to maintain accurate records.
- May be required to drive forklift trucks and operate other metal working machinery, overhead cranes and lifts.
- May be required to get additional training or certification.
- May provide assistance to other departments, as needed.
- May be required to participate in Small Group Improvement Activity Teams, daily Team Meetings and Team Exercise sessions.
- Required to identify opportunities for improvements and submit in accordance with Continuous Improvement Program
- Other duties as assigned
Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
- High School graduate, or equivalent, plus minimum 3-5 years as CNC Plasma Operator and/or demonstrated knowledge of similar equipment.
Desired:
- 2 Year Degree in related Vocational Field of Study
- Hypertherm ProNest Certifications and/or Training
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and on a team
